Kaiser currently covers 11 Visits in any combination of Prenatal and Postpartum.
Tip - The Interview is a billable Visit. As is the time the Doula spends in the hospital after baby is born. So don't forget to count those!
If you are planning a VBAC or Cesarean, the reimbursement rates for those support services are higher.

Visits in this calculator are defined as one Date of Service. Overnight support can be billed as two Visits - one pre-midnight and one post-midnight.

Two of the Visits must exceed 3 hours to utilize the Extended Visit rate. Other visits may be shorter to extend coverage over more days.

Visit 1 in this calculator is intended to be the Interview. Doula's typically do not charge for that time, but for the purposes of the Kaiser Benefit, consider it a billable Visit.

This calculator is designed for use of the Benefit with a Postpartum Doula only - if you are also using it to cover a Birth Doula, the number of remaining visits in the Benefit will limit how many Postpartum Visits will be covered.
